Our Hero Ingredients
We are extremely selective about our ingredients. Every plant has purpose and intention, whether it's aromatic or deeply nourishing for you. You can see our entire ingredient glossary below.
Hojicha Tea [Grounding]
Sourced from: Japan
Hojicha tea is a sweet, smokey, and aromatic ingredient to bathe in.
The story began when a tea merchant saw potential in leftover teas, stems, stalks and twigs. He performed an experiment by roasting them over charcoal at a high temperature, and it turned out very successful. Since then, it’s been known as Hojicha.
Hojicha contains a high level of antioxidants, which defends the skin aginast free radicals, prevents sun damage, and protects skin from pollution and other factors.
Moroccan Spearmint [Calming]
Sourced from: Morocco
After testing numerous speartmint options, Morrocan speartmint was the clear winner - it was much more sweet and delicate compared to other options.
Spearmint is believed to be the oldest plant of the Mint family, with the ancient Egyptians' first written record dating back to 1550 BC. It represents virtue and wisdom.
Moroccan spearmint is a refreshing mix of spearmint, peppermint, cornmint and a touch of black tea. We chose this spearmint specifically because it has a calmer and sweeter scent profile compared to other spearmints.
Moringa Leaves [Anti-Aging]
Sourced from India
Moringa is known as the "Tree of Life" in many cultures due to its thriving vitality nourishing generations of people and animals. Therefore, it strongly associates with life, growth, and change.
Moringa has a rich source of vitamin C and behenic acid, which helps with anti-aging. It boosts collagen, helps reduce fine lines, wrinkes and sagging skin. It also helps clear minor skin problems, such as blackheads and pimples, as well as minimizes dark spots.
Centella Asiatica [Healing]
Sourced from: India
Centella asiatica, also called Gotu kola, is a tropical medicinal plant belonging to the family of Apiaceae. It is often found in Southeast Asian countries. In Chinese medicine, centella is known to clear inflammatory and infectious conditions.
Centella offers potent antioxidants and amino acids that soothe upset and compromised skin, reduce redness, and improve hydration. It also helps revitalize the skin’s protective barrier and mitigate sun damage.
Jasmine Flowers [Balancing]
Sourced from: China
The word jasmine is derived from Arabic word “yasmin”, which means fragrant flower. It was said that a Chinese emperor of the Sung dynasty (960-1279 AD) had Jasmine in his palace grounds for him to enjoy the fragrance. In the 1400s, jasmine was planted for kings of Afghanistan, Nepal and Persia.
Jasmine flower helps to keep skin looking young and supple by restoring skin lustre and balancing moisture to naturally reduce dryness without clogging pores. The hydration properties of jasmine help to balance sebum production, which the overproduction of sebum is usually a problem for acne-prone skin.
Cinnamon Bark [Restoring]
Sourced from: Sri Lanka
Cinnamon comes from Cinnamomum verum trees grown in Sri Lanka. It was once more valuable than gold. In Egypt, it was sought for embalming and religious practices. In medieval Europe, it was used for religious rites and as a flavouring.
Cinnamon is rich in plant compounds known as polyphenols, such as cinnamic acid, cinnamaldehyde, and various flavonoids. These boast anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that help fight cell-damaging free radicals!
Sourced from: Canada
Last, but certainly not least, I present to you our last hero ingredient: oats.
Oats moisturize, restore the skin barrier, reduce itching, and regulate inflammation, which all can help in the recovery of the eczematous skin. Oats also have antioxidant benefits, and can reverse damages caused by UV rays, pollution, and harsh chemicals on your skin.
Our oats are gluten-free, organic, and packed with soothing properties.
I felt like I was in a hot springs in a forest and it was very calming. The aromatics were refreshing and rejuvenating. Loved every part of it! I totally fell in love with this bathhouse the moment I tried it. The best way to describe it would be as a serene escape of your busy and hectic life. The atmosphere is calming and relaxing. Definitely recommend! The scent was just right. Not too strong and not too light. The playlist was serene. My only thing, one of the tea bags I used for this bath got loose after tightening that the tea spilled out. But other than that it was a great experience. I never had hojicha before and I am an avid green tea drinker so it became one of my favorites instantly!
I admit I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the deep, woody scent. The evoked an image of relaxing in a warm tub in the midst of a foggy forest at dawn. I found the scent invigorating in a way that complemented the relaxing bathing experience. I have already revisited the playlist outside of the bathing experience to set a calming tone when I first get out of bed in the morning. I felt that the scent was strong but not at all overwhelming. I enjoyed the woodiness of the scent accompanied by the chimes and sounds of nature. The scent lingered on my skin and that was very pleasant. I enjoyed the tea without any additions but I think it could be a helpful suggestion to customers that a drop or two of honey would really complement the woody notes. The playlist is well curated. I think the playlist brings in sounds that encourage a type of emotional and spiritual relaxation as well as a connection to nature. I found the playlist to be very soothing. I really enjoyed the ‘Ancient Forest’ experience and look forward to trying it again. I’d like to try it as a winter time bath experience.
I LOVED this. There was a bright note (?mint?citrus) that was intriguing. I absolutely loved the moody, earthy feel to this bath (I’d say my favourite beside the Mountain Fog). The playlist was AMAZING. Time just drifted away. The Ancient Forest Bathhouse playlist is my favorite of all your playlists. My mood really matched this bath experience. It was really otherworldly. The tea matched the bath and the playlist so beautifully.
Earthy, creamy, soothing, it feels very peaceful like when you’re in the middle of the forest on a hike and come to a clearing look around and realize that you are standing somewhere that has been here long before you and will be there long after you take a deep breath in. I really enjoyed the playlist, it was peaceful and grounding with a rotation of different sounds and ambient noise. The bath blend was lovely and when I gave it (the tea sachet) a squeeze after pouring it into the path the excess tea that was released felt very creamy and moisturizing and I actually rubbed it on my arms! The scent isn’t too overpowering but is saturated enough that it feels the air. As a big tea lover I thought it was amazing, normally I drink black tea with milk and sugar, or herbal and green teas with agave/honey and I thought this tea was beautiful on its own. I would maybe state for people who don’t know, that you need a steeper strainer or provide like mini tea sachets for them! I enjoyed the ambient noise it was calming and groundings, I liked that it was curated and different from mountain fog in the sense that mountain fog is like a guided meditation, and ancient forest is acoustic and ambient, and you are concentrating on words you’re able to drift away.
I might suggest putting like a warning that because of the blend I found when I drained my tub there was like a brownish tint ring around it, where the water level was, which is no big deal and I expect that because just like a cup of tea that happens. I gave it a quick wipe and it was gone. 3L of water is a lot to carry up stairs boiling hot when your bathtub is on the second level - is there any way to do the blends with less/smaller packet version? I would also label the bath kits if people are getting more than one they both just have the Inoki bath house sticker for the blends and “tea” for the tea not knowing which pairs with which (I gave them the sniff and figured it out based on your descriptions) but just a thought!
I loved the strong scents of this one. Really took me to a forest with the smells and the atmosphere that it was creating. The tea also contributed to the balance of the scent, it was lovely. I had a couple of sips of it au naturel and then added a bit of honey which I really enjoyed. I really enjoyed the blend of forest and woodsy sounds with relaxing music. Of all the playlists, this one makes me feel like I’m at a spa which inspires relaxation for me.
